CONFESSION: I make coffee in the morning and sip on it while I'm in the shower. I just love the energizing aroma and consider it multi-tasking on busy mornings! If it feels too odd to drink coffee while you're showering, try this super easy coffee scrub.
Step 1: Choosing the right Coconut Oil.
Some coconut oils are not in their purest form. Make sure to find one that is COLD PRESSED, Organic, and Extra Virgin. This kind is healthiest for cooking, like melting over popcorn instead of butter! Plus, you want to put only the best on your skin. You'll have the most luck at a natural foods or vitamin shop with jars in the $10-20 range.
Step 2: Coffee grounds.
Recycle those K-Cups! If you have a coffee maker like Keurig or Nespresso, save a few used ones over the next couple days until you're ready to make the scrub. Standard or finely ground coffee beans are best for exfoliating delicate skin.
Note: If you're a tea drinker, replace coffee with 2-3 green tea bag leaves and 1/2 cup white or brown sugar. Pinkies Up!
Step 3: Mix it up!
Choose a shower-safe bowl or container. Warm up a nice big spoonful of coconut oil in the microwave for 15 seconds.
Cut open 2-3 K-cups and mix those coffee grounds into the coconut oil.
Congratulations, you just made a yummy smelling body scrub!
Massage onto your legs and arms in the shower 1-2 times a week. Pat dry with your towel, and enjoy super smooth skin all day.
Note: This will get messy. So water down the walls & floor so the coffee doesn't stain your shower.
