3 Shopping Tips to Support Small Business Owners During COVID with Dale Janée

Savvy Sleepers launched 8 years ago this week out of my small apartment in San Francisco. It's been a journey and as I woke up this morning in Dallas, Texas I celebrated with my 3 daughters with a fancy brunch. AKA Kodiak pancakes with a dollop of Reddi Whip, my quarantine specialty 'mini Yogurt Parfaits' and a Mimosa. As Small Business Saturday was this weekend, the past couple days I thought about how we can support small business owners in our community.
Here's a few of ways I shop small below...
- Avoid Amazon (When Possible) - Are you buying a toy or product on Amazon that could be purchased at a local business? Or search Amazon, then google the brand's direct website. Often you'll get better customer service and direct discounts. It also helps the small business.
- Share a Review for a Local Small Biz - whether it's a restaurant, or online store. Honest reviews are extremely beneficial to small business owners, especially those just growing their presence online during COVID.
- Spread the word to friends and family about local stores or businesses you're loving. With COVID shutdowns, there are so many businesses opening and closing depending on the day, you can't always trust what Google is saying with 'store hours' so word of mouth marketing is back!
