Hollywood Brows Cause Spike in Eyebrow Transplants!

Oh Cara Delevingne! Just when we thought a touch of Latisse on our brows at night was getting the job done, the 21-year-old international supermodel has taken the world by storm with her signature thick, and dare we say, bushy-chic brows.
Bold brows on models like Cara, to fashion stars the Olson Twins and actresses like Jennifer Connolly have started a new trend in the world of hair transplants according to a new ABC special report. Women who have over-plucked or waxed their brows for years are turning to brow transplants and undergoing the procedure by doctor's like LA's Dr. Marc Dauer, MD.

According to the ABC report:
'Last year, each woman underwent a procedure lasting between six and eight hours. During the procedure, a small strip of each woman’s scalp was carefully transferred onto her brow area – one follicle at a time – to create a new set of brows.'
“We create the desired shape of the eyebrows,” Dauer said, explaining the process. “I use a needle that's roughly a half a millimeter in diameter … It's very, very small, and one by one we place the hairs exactly the way we want them to grow.”  The procedure costs around $7,000 and, Dauer says, it can take about a year to get full results.
